The free event, at Boghead Farm in Lumsden, will let people get face to face with bright-eyed lambs and ewes.

Farmer Thomas Jackson, who also farms cattle, said visitors will also have the chance learn about the reality of farming.

He said: "We just want everybody to have a nice, fun day out, cuddle a lamb and learn something.

"Learning a little something is what life is all about."

The day is also being run together with the Huntly and Insch branch of the NFU.

Friendly farmers from the branch will be at the event to answer questions on any part of agriculture.

Art of Farming artists, who use art to connect with the farming community, will also be at the event.

Cups of tea and other refreshments will also be available, raising money for the Lumsden defibrillators project.

Donation to the Scottish Charity Air Ambulance will also be accepted on the day.

Mr Jackson said: "It’s all about reconnecting and getting people up close and personal with animals."
