The Gamrie Creatives showcase opened on Friday which will see artists and crafters open their studios and workshops to the public over the weekend.

Fifteen venues in Gardenstown are hosting 21 participants, which has ensured a range of work is on display for people to look at and purchase.

The sun shone on Friday as visitors explored the streets of the community on their way to the various venues.

These include Colin Grieve at the New Ground who has a range of traditionally made woodturned items on display and is also demonstrating the craft throughout the weekend.

At British Gnome Stores, Harbour Road, Martin Wiseman shows how he makes his miniature creels which he has been doing since he was a boy. Born and bred in Gamrie he uses reclaimed wood and nets to create the creels in a variety of sizes.

David Peters of Twitoo Crafts at Seatown's Wee Boat House brings back memories of the 1970s with his retro macramé jute work combined with a more modern twist in paracord and synthetic cords. Owls are one of his favourite animals to create.

At the Gardenstown Community Hub on High Street Lisa Mayer of Gamrie Creative Glass has a display of handmade fused glass art and gifts.

Also harpists Irene Watt and Nadine Ralston are providing come and try sessions on the instrument. Nadine will host on Saturday, while Irene is performing on Sunday at 2pm.

Venues will be open from 10am to 4pm on Saturday and Sunday and are clearly signposted.
