Pupils at St Thomas Primary doubled up with their nativity show this Christmas.

First, the youngsters did an afternoon performance for the residents of Glenisla and Weston View care homes in Keith.

This was then followed by an evening performance for families and the community.

The parent council arranged refreshments following the evening performance and pupils also sold crafts/bakes as part of an enterprise project.

Joyce Dawson, the primary's volunteer musical director, coached the children extensively before the show.

The hard work clearly paid off, as can be seen by the audience reaction.

Comments from parents included: "All the children were amazing" ... "so proud of all the children tonight" … "thanks so much to all the staff and teachers for their hard work" ... "an absolutely brilliant night".

And: "It was a brilliant night. Really enjoyed it, and well done to everyone. Great work" ... "The wee donkey had me in stitches. And the boy playing the curious sheep was incredible. Blew me away."

The children also loved being involved.

Pupils commented: "It was amazing" ... "really enjoyed parents being there to see us perform" ... "it was really great that the younger children were the main characters"

And: "It was funny when the donkey fell asleep on the bench" ... "the donkey made me laugh" ... "really enjoyed being part of the musical team" ... "we had to practice for ages before we could perform".
