PICTURES: Deveron Valley Running Festival is a success

A successful Deveron Valley Running Festival was held on Sunday by Deveron Harriers.

There was a choice of three distances that runners could test themselves over – half marathon, 10k and 5k.

The half marathon started in Turriff with runners following a multi-terrain course to the finish line at Duff House sports grounds in Banff.

The 10k commenced at Castle Eden, King Edward, and also finished at Duff House.

Runners in the 5K started and finished at Duff House.

There was also a junior 1k fun run for youngsters.

The male winner in the half marathon was Hector Cowie with a time of 1hr 24min 40 secs, second was Graham Stephen 1:28:31 and third was Tony Paterson 1:28:32.

The female winner was Kay Davies with a time of 1:42:29, second was Zoe Hayward 1:42:43 and third was Jacoline Dey 1:45:19.

In the 10k the men’s winner was Allan Bartlet with a time of 37:56, second was Jegors Slobodcikovs 38:57 and third was Calum Sinclair 40:43

The women’s winner was Moira Davie with a time of 42:15, second was Kirsty Macdougall 48:13 and third was Yvonne Damm 52:00.

The 5k male winner was Mark Beagrie with a time of 18:31, second was Nathan Thow 19:48 and third was Rab Murray 20:06.

The female winner was Louise McKenzie with a time of 19:21, second was Kirsty Barron 21:33 and third was Morag McKenzie 25:43.

The festival was sponsored by Structured Finanical Planning, Paul Florence Mortgage Services, B Barron Plumbing and Heating, and P Milton Roofing.
