The sun shone on Saturday for a ceremony at Banff Castle which unveiled a plaque for the community venue's Coronation Tree.

The honour was carried out by the Lord Lieutenant of Banffshire Andrew Simpson.

He donated the plaque and the Banff and Macduff Men's Shed set it into stone which now sits pride of place in front of the tree.

As well as the unveiling, a family fun day was held at the Castle which included performances by Banff Castle Pipe Band, music from George Rennie, Jenny’s Donkeys, Karina the Barn Owl, bouncy castle, giant dart board game, bungee trampolines, giant slide, various stalls and refreshments from the Castle Coffee Shop.
