Banff's first panto show in years will be staged at the Deveronside Lounge on Sunday.

The touring production of Aladdin is set to bring fun and colour to the Christmas period.

The show will actively encourage audience participation, combining the tradition of pantomime with up to date humour, music and themes.

Deveronside’s Tracy Ritchie said: “I’m really excited to be bringing pantomime to the local area.

“It’s the first public panto to come to Banff in a long time, to my knowledge.”

There will be two afternoon performances of the pantomime on Sunday at 2pm and 4pm.

The show is created by M and M Productions and a spokesman said: "Our productions educate young audiences through the powers of entertainment and imagination, while at the same time encourage children to read for pleasure and explore their creative abilities.

“Every one of our shows is packed with fun, laughter, excitement, great music and larger than life characters.

“Written specifically for children by our experienced team of professionals; our scripts, costumes, scenery and special effects all combine to ensure that from the very beginning, the audience will enjoy a truly magical and enriching theatrical experience.”

Tickets can be booked for the panto at the Deveronside Facebook page or by calling 01261 812769.
