Overnight works set to begin on the A96 to the south of Huntly

The A96 carriageway south of Huntly is set to benefit from a £680,000 resurfacing scheme that will deliver improvements to the road surface.

Work will take place to the south of Huntly from May 12 - 24 overnight.

Amey, on behalf of Transport Scotland, will carry out overnight resurfacing on approximately 876 metres of the A96 from Sunday, May 12 to Friday May.24

Work will take place between north of Gartly junction and Thomastown junction.

To ensure the safety of roadworkers and motorists the work will be undertaken under an overnight convoy between 7.30pm and 6.30am each night.

There will be no overnight work on Friday 17 and Saturday 18.

When works are taking place across the Drumblade/Gartly junction, local traffic should use the A97.

When works are taking place across the Gartly junction, traffic should follow the A96 north to Huntly then turn left onto the Old Military Road to Gartly.

All traffic management is scheduled to be removed by 6.30am on Friday 24.

All schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.
