An overnight Red Alert from the Met Office for high winds which was issued just before midnight remains in place across Aberdeenshire and Moray this morning.
Many north-east roads are affected by fallen trees, with the A947 Banff to Aberdeen seeing several along its entire route, and other roads around Mintlaw, Aberchirder and Alford also affected.
Power loss and road access problems have lead to several schools posting updates -
Aberchirder Primary School - Opening delayed - Due to the amount of debris on the road caused by storm Isha, Aberchirder School and Nursery will have a delayed opening of 10am today, Monday 22. This will hopefully allow time for roads to be cleared and for children and staff to travel safely to school and Nursery. Ultimately, it is the parent/carers decision to decide if it is safe for their child to travel to school. School transport will attempt to collect children an hour later than normal. Children should arrive as close to 10am as possible.
Fyvie School - Opening delayed. At present until we can further assess access routes to school, nursery will open at 9am this morning to allow staff and children to travel in daylight. There are no transport updates as yet.
Hatton Fintray School - Closed to everyone
Keithhall School - Closed to everyone
Meldrum Academy - Changes to transport routes
Portsoy School - Opening delayed
Tarland School - Closed to everyone
Whitehills School - Opening delayed
