Overnight roadworks are set to begin on the A96 between Fochabers and Keith from Wednesday onwards.

Work on improving the road surface will start each evening at 7.30pm and continue to 6.30am the following morning.

With no works taking place on either Friday or Saturday night, the resurfacing is expected to be completed Tuesday, June 22.

To ensure the safety of the roadworkers, a 10mph convoy system will be in place.

All traffic management will be removed during the daytime.

Ian Stewart, BEAR Scotland’s North East representative, said: "This £175,000 investment from Transport Scotland will greatly improve and strengthen this section of the A96, as well as create a smoother and safer journey for motorists.

"The traffic management is essential for everyone’s safety however we’ve taken steps to minimise disruption for motorists as much as possible."
