The team behind the Royal Deeside Motor Showwhich was due to take place in July have been forced to push back the dates following the delays to Covid rules being relaxed.

In a statement organisers Etiom said: "Plans for the first ever Royal Deeside Motor Show has stepped down a gear as it is forced to move dates following the announcement by The Scottish Government of a three-week delay to easing of lockdown restrictions across Scotland. T

"he Royal Deeside Motor Show was due to take place on 17th and 18th July 2021 at Kincardine Castle and Estate but it has now been moved to 14th and 15th August 2021."

Held in the grounds of privately-owned Kincardine Castle near Kincardine O’Neil, the two-day Royal Deeside Motor Show is run by Aberdeen-based Etiom Events and is a much-anticipated new addition to the motoring events calendar.

Since its launch in October the event has captured the attention of many motor enthusiasts both locally and nationally who have signed up to showcase their vehicles.

Support for the event continues with the Organisers reporting that plans are well advanced to ensure that the event is designed to maximise the space available within the grounds of Kincardine Castle to stage an open-air socially distanced event suitable for all attendees to enjoy some family fun.

Etiom’s Managing Director Gavin Esslemont commented: “Whilst it is disappointing at this stage to move the dates, it is definitely the right thing to do.

"The vaccine programme continues at an incredible pace and delaying the Royal Deeside Motor Show by four weeks allows the programme to progress to an advanced stage and it gives families across the region a fun and exciting event to enjoy before the kids return to school.”

Adam Simpson Etiom’s operations manager added: “Our number one priority is public safety and being able to stage an event that people can look forward to as we continue to learn how to live with the current challenges presented by a pandemic.

"So, we are delighted to have secured such a vast open air space such as the beautiful Kincardine Castle, which is not normally open to the public. "Kincardine Castle offers well over 100,000 square metres of open space, as well as an additional 60,000 square metres of onsite parking, that allows us to design the event in a Covid-compliant way, giving us all an opportunity after sixteen months to get out to an event in the fresh air and soak up the beauty of Royal Deeside from the Castle’s vantage point over the valley.”

Organisers will be in touch with all those that have purchased tickets which will automatically be transferred to the new dates.
