COMMUNITY bookshop Orbs is hosting two author events this Hairst.
The much-loved literary hub is to welcome Aaron Gale and Jackie Ross, from Doric Books, on Saturday, September 2.
Starting at 10.30am, the pair will entertain with their evocative storytelling and will provide activities for young ones.
Taking to social media to share their excitement, an Orbs spokesperson said: "We’re thrilled that Jackie Ross and Aaron Gale from Doric Books will be joining us again at the Huntly Hairst.
"On the morning of Saturday, September 2 they will be bringing their wonderful storytelling and activities for bairns to the bookshop.
"It’s a free event as usual but best to be on time (10.30am) to make sure you don’t miss out."
In the afternoon, Highland thriller writer T S Westbrook will share details of his process, his inspiration and his wider work.
The 1.30pm event will also see the author signing and discussing his latest book S6, a fast paced and exciting eco-thriller set on an experimental oil rig.
"Join us on the afternoon of Huntly Hairst and meet acclaimed Highlands-based thriller writer T S Westbrook," the Orbs spokesperson said.
"He will be chatting about his process and about how he creates his gripping thrillers.
"Hear about his latest work S6, an exciting novel set in the world of journalism and the oil industry, and based on an experimental oil rig.
"Described by reviewers as featuring a 'gritty, down to earth main character' in a 'fast-paced, exciting and intriguing novel' readers have 'really struggled to put down'.
As well as the two headline events, the bookshop will have special Hairst discounts and offers, and our usual face painting tent in the bookshop garden.
The author events are free but there is a small charge for facepainting.
