Old Skene Road proves a talking point at the Garioch Heritage Society

AUTHOR and historian Skene man Jim Fiddes was welcomed and introduced by Nora Radcliffe to Garioch Heritage Society's meeting last week at the Garioch Heritage centre, Loco Works road, Inverurie.

A founder of Skene Heritage society Jim, known for his books Brodiach to Bervie and The Granite men gave a most informative and lively talk taking his audience on a walk along the old Skene road.

There were frequent stops along the way when he pointed out places and people of interest some dating back two hundred.

Vote of thanks was given by society member Joan Bruce.
