LIGHT has been shed on an old photo which appeared in a recent edition of the Advertiser.

In our September 22 edition the Window on the Past section featured a photo of a presentation, although aside from that nothing was known about it.

However, reader Joe Hill has stepped forward to fill in some of the blanks.

Mr Hill explained that the photo was taken in Cullen Post Office – probably in 1969 or thereabouts – and shows postman Bob Mcaulay receiving a tankard from postmistress Jeannie Milne.

Standing next to Jeannie is Kathleen Ross who took over the job when Jeannie retired.
