North-east tractors take to the roads for festive fundraisers

Across Aberdeenshire, tractor owners are taking to the roads for a series of festive fundraisers, which started last week with East Aberdeenshire Young Farmers run from Ellon to Turriff.

This Friday, the attention turns to Inverurie, where the Heritage Centre at the Loco Works will be the base for the local run.

The Festive Tractor Fun Run starts from the Garioch Heritage Centre at 7pm and heads to Blackhall Road, Upperboat raod and round to the High Street before heading back to the centre which will be open from 5pm.

On Saturday 16, tractors head to Rothienorman where they head out from the hall at 5pm travelling to Fyvie (5.10pm approx) and on to Oldmeldum.

The hall itself is open from 3pm with a wide range of stall holders in attendance for the fundraiser.

Huntly has its turn on Christmas Eve where Huntly Auction Market is the meet-up point. Leaving at 6.30pm the procession will drive to Huntly Square and turn onto Bleachfield Street through to Bogie street onto A96 turning left and then left again onto A97 travelling to Drumblade and then onto Gartly circling back to Huntly Mart.

And after Christmas, tractors are back at Turrif for the TDVCC post Christmas Road Run on Wednesday 27 starting at Burnside Grain Store at 6.30pm after competition judging at 6pm, the route will take in Cuminestown, Garmond, New Byth and Turriff in a 20mile loop.
