Teams at North East Scotland College (NESCol) are preparing to provide advice and support to school pupils receiving SQA results this week.

With places available on a range of courses starting on Monday, August 28, the message to young people is that there are opportunities waiting to be explored.

Clearing Week activity at NESCol is designed to help learners decide their next steps and is running from August 7-11.

The college – with its three main campuses in Aberdeen city centre, Altens and Fraserburgh – has a range of full-time opportunities on offer.

NESCol’s advice team is on hand to guide prospective students through the application process and answer general queries.

There will also be the opportunity to speak to subject specialists. A dedicated phone hotline and LiveChat support are available, with drop-in support on offer at the City and Fraserburgh campuses throughout the week.

NESCol principal Neil Cowie said: “We’re making final preparations for the start of another exciting session, finalising plans for what is always a vibrant and engaging period on the college calendar.

“We know waiting for exam results can be a worrying time for school pupils who are looking to take their next steps in education and training.

"The aim of Clearing Week at NESCol is to take that stress away and to provide friendly support and guidance, matching applicants to the places we have available and also providing advice to those who have already applied and now have their results.

“It’s an opportunity to find out more about NESCol courses and facilities, receive guidance on funding and travel and explore a range of other topics with our advice and curriculum teams.”

For general advice on applications and studying at NESCol, the clearing hotline will run from 10am to 3.30pm from August 7-11 on 01224 612301. A LiveChat option is also available at www.nescol.ac.uk
