MarramWind project director Richard Eakin said: “One year on from our very first public information event in Peterhead, it’s great to launch the first stage of statutory public consultation for this exciting project.

“We want to give as many people as possible a chance to see what we have planned and to get their feedback on our proposals, so we’ve made it as easy as possible to get involved with face-to-face events as well as live online events and a virtual exhibition. Hopefully, there will be something for everyone!

“This project has the potential to be a real game changer for the north-east – providing a great green generation boost as well as delivering investment, jobs and supply chain growth.

“While we’re at the early stages of development, we want to know what people think so we can take that on board as we move forward, so please take part.”

A joint ScottishPower and Shell project, MarramWind could be one of the first commercial-scale floating offshore windfarms in the world.

Located 75km off the north-east coast of Aberdeenshire and with a proposed capacity of 3GW, it could produce enough homegrown green electricity to power the equivalent of more than 3.5 million homes.

Find out more and share feedback on the proposals at www.marramwind.co.uk from Monday, May 27.

To take part in either of the live online question and answer sessions, email stakeholder@marramwind.com to secure a place.
