New community councillors in Banff and Macduff are needed to ensure the community council's planned return in August, as nominations for new members opens.
The nomination period for fresh councillors to fill the 14 vacancies on Banff and Macduff Community Council opened yesterday (June 27) ahead of the group's first meeting in nearly a year this August.
In August 2021, the community council had to be dissolved following a raft of resignations.
Now, after two years, the group is to reform at an AGM in August, but it needs plenty of new personnel.
A spokesperson for Aberdeenshire Council said: "The importance of Community Councils has become more evident these last few years.
"It is vital that enough people put themselves forward to allow the Community Council to carry out good work."
Nominations for new community councillors will be accepted until July 22, with the deadline for the return of forms being 4pm on Friday, July 22.
Applicants could have an easy path to their seat at this point, as a ballot will only happen if there are more nominees that vacancies.
At the time of the community council's collapse nearly a year ago councillor Glen Reynolds said: It is a very unfortunate situation and we need to take the positives and move forward sooner rather than later."
Nomination forms, closing dates and further information can be accessed from the Council website.
