AN EXCITING new addition has been made at the Cullen Antiques Centre.

A new gallery, named AREA 51, has been instated at the centre. The gallery will offer an exciting programme of exhibitions throughout the year, as well as a succession of workshops.

The exhibitions and workshops will encourage locals to embrace their creative side – while also assisting Art and Design students, should they need assistance with their technical skills.

The first exhibition, which opened to the public on November 10 and ends on Hogmanay, is called Four Woman and consists of four artists, all hailing from Aberdeen. Sculptor and painter April X J Presley and painters Lesley Cullan, Debby Forsyth and Karen Curran.

There will also be a framing service available for customers needing to upgrade a damaged painting or wanting to complete a piece of art with a desirable frame.

The Antiques Centre itself is open seven days a week, 11am until 4pm from Monday to Saturday and 12pm until 4pm on a Sunday. Entry to the gallery is free.

Its café, with its inviting wood burning stove, beverages and home bakes, is the perfect place to relax after a stroll along the beach. Your dog is a welcome visitor and will be pampered by the dog-loving staff.
