It aims to bring together a diverse range of stakeholders, from industry professionals to individuals with lived experience in these areas.

Most importantly, it offers a unique opportunity for these voices to be heard directly by parliamentary representatives.

She said: "Scotland's coastal communities are at the forefront of many of our nation's most pressing challenges.

"It was clear after meeting with various industries with coastal interests within my remit as a MSP of a coastal constituency and member of the rural affairs committee, that there was a need to facilitate cross industry collaboration alongside parliamentarians.

"It's crucial that we come together, cutting across party lines, to ensure that we craft action points that are holistic, inclusive, and responsive to the rapidly changing dynamics of our coastlines.”

This cross-party group seeks to bridge the gap between policymakers and the real-world experiences of those living and working in our coastal regions.

Its intention is to foster dialogue, promote understanding and drive actionable solutions to the myriad of issues facing our shores.

This is a real step forward for our coastal communities across Scotland, offering a renewed hope for collaboration, understanding and actionable objectives.

Ms Adam added: "I urge all stakeholders, from industry professionals to local residents with valuable insights, to engage with this cross party group.

"Together, we can craft a brighter, sustainable and inclusive future for our coastal communities."
