Neighbourhood Watch Scotland are are the latest group to support Keep Scotland Beautiful's campaign which seeks to log dog poo across neighbourhoods in Scotland as part of their #TurdTag fortnight.
A Keep Scotland Beautiful survey from last year has indicated an increase in dog fouling within communities over the last ten years, unsurprisingly worse in highly populated areas.
Throughout Aberdeenshire, residents in communities have in recent weeks been taking to social media to highlight towns and a villages, and especially well known dog walking areas, where the issue has become an increasing problem.
As part of people's daily exercise, and in accordance to Government guidance, people are being asked to take part in #TurdTag and help the campaign group understand dog fouling levels in neighbourhoods.
#TurdTag will be taking place for two weeks from Monday, April 27.
Over the two weeks, Keep Scotland Beautiful want to encourage as many people as possible to feed in data on the number of dog poos they are finding near them.
All you need to do is: Select a 100m stretch to use as a transect.
When out on your walk as part of your daily exercise, count the number of bagged or unbagged dog poos you see..
Post your #TurdTag on Twitter, Facebook or Instagram tagging @CleanUpScotland or @KSBScotland or email your results at the end of the fortnight, including your location and local authority to cleanup@keepscotlandbeautiful.org
