Police are appealing for information about a man posted missing from Tain

POLICE are appealing for information about a man posted missing from his home after going fishing.

Fifty-nine-year-old John William Scott has not been seen since he left to go fishing at 8am on Thursday from his home in Scotsburn Road in Tain.

He is described as being 6ft 1in, of large build and has grey hair and a goatee beard.

Overnight, police co-ordinated a search involving lifeboats, coastguard and rescue helicopter.

Searches are continuing today involving the dog section and search team officers.

Ross police are also seeking information on the whereabouts of Strathpeffer man, Steven Seel (30), as previously reported.
