Helicopter used in search for man in Nairn

A SEARCH and rescue helicopter hovered above Nairn last night as police tried to trace a man in connection with various alleged offences.

The search started at about 6.30pm in the Granny Barbour Road area and continued until after 11pm as the police tried to trace the man who was described as being in his twenties and was wearing shorts, a t-shirt and no footwear.

A spokesman for the police said the man has not been found and appealed for information about his whereabouts.

"The man is being sought in connection with a number of offences including alleged drink driving and resisting arrest," said the spokesman.

The RAF helicopter could be seen searching Nairn again today.
