UHI sets tuition fees

THE University of the Highlands and Islands has sets its tuition fees for students from the rest of the UK.

Full-time students from England, Northern Ireland and Wales studying a four-year degree course will be charged £7500 per year, with the fourth year free, representing a cap of £22,500.

UHI principal James Fraser said the tuition fees had been set at £7500 per year in a bid to attract students from outwith Scotland and to accelerate growth in the organisation.

Edinburgh and St Andrews will charge £9000 per year, making the cost of a degree as much as £36,000.
