Dufftown run too close to call
THE inaugural Dufftown 10-mile run produced a ding-dong battle between David Weir and Kenny Wilson.
Weir, of Forres Harriers, and Moray Roadrunner Wilson enjoyed a keen scrap over the hilly countryside course.
Organised by Dufftown JogScotland, the race attracted a field of 38 runners.
It was super vet Weir and Wilson who dominated the race from the start and they were nip and tuck for most of the 10 miles.
Weir took the honours in a time of 1hr 02min and 27sec, with Wilson just 24 seconds behind.
They were almost a full 10 minutes ahead of the third and fourth place runners.
That saw an even closer battle between Moray Roadrunner Louise Cartmell and Wendy Duigan, of Strathearn Harriers, with Cartmell taking third by a mere five seconds.
