Moray eateries urged to go for award
LOCAL eateries are being urged to add a flavour of Moray to this year’s Highlands & Islands Food & Drink Awards (HIFDA).
Organisers of the Inverness event are seeking entries from Moray’s restaurants, cafes, delis, garden centres and takeaways who offer high quality food and drink to their customers.
This year’s awards includes not only a Restaurant of the Year award but a Best Other Eatery category for businesses not solely classed as a restaurant.
The new award could bring in Moray delis that dish up delicious cuisine, tearooms that turn out the most tempting of sweetmeats, local cafes whose coffee is first class, garden centres that produce blooming good cakes, and the top notch takeaways or bistro that’s better than the rest.
Supported by Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE) the awards are the region’s most prestigious food and drink awards celebrating excellence and achievement in the industry and recognising industry players at the top of their game.
Judges will be looking for establishments which can demonstrate the most innovative and consistent use of Highlands and islands suppliers, great produce, outstanding service levels, value for money, return custom and a pleasant environment.
More details can be found at www.hifoodanddrinkawards.com and the entry deadline is Friday, June 15.
The shortlisted finalists are announced in September and the awards dinner and ceremony will be held at the Drumossie Hotel, Inverness on Friday, October 19.
