Caravan destroyed by fire at Lyth

FIRE crews from Wick were called out to a caravan site in Lyth after a static caravan caught fire on Wednesday afternoon.

Highlands and Islands Fire and Rescue Service reported that two teams were sent to tackle the fire at 12.21pm and using hosereel jets and breathing apparatus extinguished it at 1.03pm before returning to base at 1.40pm.

It is not known how the caravan caught fire but a spokeswoman for HIFRS said that it was completely destroyed but nobody was injured as a result of the incident.
