Highlands included in new travel diary
THE first-ever interactive travel diary launched by national tourism organisation VisitScotland has received a political stamp of approval from Inverness and Nairn MSP Fergus Ewing.
The SNP’s minister for tourism has backed the scheme designed to promote some of Scotland’s active pursuits, including cruising lochs, walking and mountain biking throughout the glens of the Highlands.
Travel writer Robin McKelvie will update the diary twice a week for the next three months, adding his own photos and video content.
"From mountain biking and white water rafting to trail walks and orienteering, there really is an activity for everyone, of all ages and abilities, to get involved in," Mr Ewing said.
"I am confident Robin McKelvie’s online adventure diary will inspire viewers to get outdoors and experience some of the many activities that Scotland has to offer."
Users can also share experiences, photographs and videos and influence Mr McKelvie’s trip through VisitScotland’s Facebook website. The travel diary will also include tips, maps of Scotland and money saving vouchers.
