Motorists urged to slow down on Kessock and Skye Bridges

Traffic Scotland are advising motorists to exercise caution this morning due to high winds currently affecting driving conditions.

They warn to take particular care crossing the Kessock Bridge and the Skye Bridge.

The forecast is for cloudy weather with further outbreaks of rain, most persistent and heaviest across Northwest Highlands by this afternoon, edging down to Lochaber this evening.

Spray and surface water will lead to difficult driving conditions.

Some drier, brighter interludes towards Inverness and drier in Northwest by evening. Strong southwesterly winds with gusts 45mph over higher routes and bridges.

Strong southwesterly winds will east a little overnight.
