By SPP Reporter

A TEENAGE motorist is in a serious condition at Raigmore Hospital following an accident on the A82 this morning.

The 19-year-old man veered down an embankment after colliding with another car.

Fire crews had to use cutting equipment to free him from the vehicle and he was taken to hospital by air ambulance.

He was the only occupant of the vehicle.

Two people in the other car were also taken to Raigmore Hospital after sustaining minor injury. They went by road ambulance.

The 19-year-old was trapped in a turquoise Vauxhall Corsa after the incident at 8.25am two miles north of Invermorison.

The other car, a blue VW Golf remained on the road. A 46-year-old man was able to release himself from the car, but a 44-year-old woman had to be freed by firefighters.

The road was closed for four and a half hours to allow police investigations to take place and for fire crews from Drumnadrochit and Fort Augustus to ensure the area was safe.

Northern Constabulary is keen to hear from anyone who has information about the accident and urges them to call: 01463 715555.
