Group shine at championships
CAITHNESS street dancing group Rush.dance busted a few fancy moves when they competed against some of the best talent in the country.
Thirteen kids from the far north travelled down to Motherwell to take part in the MAD streetdance championships, for which the youngsters had been practising hard for months.
The group did not come away empty-handed as in the duo sections Chloe MacGregor and Jodi McLean won the under-eight category and Iona MacLaughlan and Rebecca Miller triumphed in the under-16 category.
Street dancing instructor Willie Miller said all the far north youngsters had done themselves proud and the fact that very few of them made it to the finals showed how high the standard was.
Rush.dance students who made it to the quarter-final and semi-final sections of the individual categories included Aaron McLean, Drew Hourston, Gordie McLennan, Lauren Miller, Jodi Budge, Tyler Hutton.
The best performance in the solo section included Rhiannon Mackay who finished sixth in the under-10 category and Iona Maclaughlan who was fifth in the under-16 intermediate category.
