Inverness ready to turn on Christmas spirit

CHRISTMAS festivities will be in full swing this weekend when the Inverness Christmas lights are switched on.

STV’s Nicola McAlly will host the event at Inverness Town House. The switch on will be accompanied by singing from members of TFX Scotland Musical Theatre School and Singing for Pleasure, and illuminations by Arts in Motion. The show starts at 5.15pm, Sunday 18 November.

Following the switch on the Inverness Festivals traditional Christmas Carol concert, Ding Dong Merrily Old High, will take place at Old High Church in Church Street.

Drivers are asked to note that road closures and diversions will be in operation between 5pm and 6.30pm on Sunday. The roads closed during this period are: Bridge Street, Inverness, closed at its junction with Castle Road to its con-junction with High Street, High Street, Inverness, closed at its con-junction with Bridge Street to its con-junction with Castle Street, Castle Street, Inverness, closed at its con-junction with High Street to its junction with View Place, Castle Wynd, Inverness, closed at its junction with Bridge Street to its termination.
