Ladbrokes eye Scotscoup

By SPP Reporter

THERE is speculation that Moray-based bookmaker Scotscoup could be taken over by Ladbrokes.

Scotscoup has established a loyal client base.
Scotscoup has established a loyal client base.

Established in 1961, Scotscoup The Bookies is now one of the leading independent off-course bookmakers in Scotland.

It has offices in Elgin, Buckie, Keith, Forres and Lossiemouth, and a number of other branches across the Highlands and Grampian, stretching from Thurso in the north, Ellon in the east and Crieff in the south.

It is not clear whether any deal will involve some or all of the Scotscoup outlets.

John Russell, spokeman for Scotscoup, said he could make no comment at this stage.

Ladbrokes already has a strong presence in Moray, with two outlets in Elgin alone.

No-one from Ladbrokes was available for comment.
