Butcher will not rush duo back
Jonny Tuffey, Thomas Piermayr, Chris Hogg, Roman Golobart, Graeme Shinnie, Lee Cox, Gavin Morrison, Jonny Hayes, Shane Sutherland and Aidan Chippendale were all involved, but Billy McKay missed the game with a thigh strain.
Butcher took a strong Caley Thistle squad to Dunfermline for a bounce match against the Pars yesterday as he looked to give some match practice to the players currently on the fringes of the first-team.
"We will just see how it goes with the two of them and then take it from there."
"We know they will come back at some stage this season, but we don’t want to put them under added pressure by saying they have to back for a certain time.
"It’s slow progress for the two of them and I would hate to put any timescale on it because both injuries they suffered were very serious.
"It was a very delicate operation that required some very detailed surgery, but Owain has been doing exercise to help get some strength back into his knee.
"Owain is currently away with our physiotherapist John McCreadie to see a specialist in London where they will take a look at his knee.
"Aaron is doing light exercises to help with the mobility of his shoulder and he’s also doing a bit of running, so it’s now a case of building that up.
"They are each coming on slowly but surely," he said.
Both are making progress with their respective injuries, but Inverness manager Butcher is reluctant to put a specific date on when they will come back into the fray.
Midfielder Tudur Jones (27) has been out since mid-August after requiring surgery on a knee injury sustained during the 2-0 home defeat by Rangers, while 20-year-old winger Doran also needed an operation when he dislocated his shoulder in the 2-1 victory over Kilmarnock at the end of the same month.
TERRY Butcher is not putting any timescale on when the injured duo of Owain Tudur Jones and Aaron Doran will return to full fitness.
