The O’s set for Newmarket gig

By SPP Reporter

AN American rock-pop duo are hitting Thurso this weekend.

Texas folk two-piece The O’s will be playing the Newmarket Bar on Sunday, fresh from their appearance at the Belladrum festival in Beauly.

With over 500 shows and one album under their belts, The O’s have just returned with their sophomore release, Between The Two.

The O’s bring a real charm to southern American folk with Taylor Young rocking the mic, guitar, and bass drum while John Pedigo plays the banjo, tambo, lowebro and harmonica.

When trying to describe their sound, they replied: “Well, we sweat too much for a folk band, drink too much for a pop band and rock too much for a country band. Our music lies somewhere in between.”

The show kicks off at 5pm as an after-party for those who have missed out on the weekend festival or those who have returned from the festival and fancy continuing the party.

Entry is £2 at the door.
