Police believe an air gun may have been used to damage cars at Culloden.

A series of incidents resulting in damage to vehicles in the Culloden area may have involved an air gun, according to Inverness police.

The incidents, over the last two weeks, have all happened in the Tower Road area.

Inspector Steve Davren, of Burnett Road Police Station, said the police are "extremely concerned".

"As well as causing damage to the vehicles involved, this reckless and dangerous behaviour, in such circumstances, has the potential to have much more serious consequences than have thankfully been reported to date," he said.

Four similar incidents have been reported to Northern Constabulary. The first happened on 1st September at 10.50pm, the second on 3rd September at 10.10pm and the remaining two on 10th September at 1.30pm and then 1.45pm.

Northern Constabulary are keen to speak to anyone who has any information about any of these incidents and would encourage them to contact the police on 0845 600 5703 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111 or online at www.crimestoppers-uk.org. No personal details are taken, information is not traced or recorded and informants will not go to court.
