Scorers: Buckie - Charlesworth 20, Napier 23, Stewart 56. Wick: Allan 3, Weir 6, Steven 86

TWO goals in the first six minutes was the dream start for Wick Academy, but the visitors needed a late equaliser from Michael Steven to rescue a point at Victoria Park.

In the only Highland League fixture to survive the weather, Davie Allan opened the scoring after three minutes when he fired home into the bottom right hand corner from 14 yards after Craig Shearer sent in an inch perfect cross.

The home crowd was stunned three minutes later when Allan played a clever one-two with Gary Weir who got himself on the score sheet when he smacked a left foot shot off the inside of the right post past Darren Strong.

The Jags pulled one back through Martin Charlesworth and levelled terms thanks to Paul Napier smashing a thunderbolt into the top left corner from 20 yards which gave Michael Gray no chance of stopping, during three minutes of defensive panic for Academy.

The home side took the lead on 56 minutes when Graeme Stewart managed to rise the highest for a Napier corner and sent a glancing header into the top right hand corner of the net over the top of Alan Farquhar who tried in vain to block.

The Scorries rescued a point four minutes from time thanks to wing back Michael Steven, whose first shot was blocked before launching a screamer from the rebound which smashed into the top right hand corner of the net.
