Brodie to offer volunteers a taste of conservation

BRODIE Castle is to give volunteers a taste of conservation work with a newly established group.

Taster days are to be held at the castle on June 9 and 10, through, the National Trust for Scotland's Highland Conservation Volunteers Group, will offer people a flavour of what is involved.

The Highland Group has been set up to carry out outdoor conservation work of all types at National Trust for Scotland sites all voer the Highlands, helping the charity tokeep its sites looking good for visitors.

The Trust already has four other groups doing similar work in Glasgow, Aberdeen, Edinburgh and Perth.

The enw Highland Group will carry out a range of conservation tasks including footpaht construction, woodlands management and gardening.

They will find themselves working in beautiful gardens such as Inverewe in Wester Ross, and in magnificent countrysid esuch as Kintail.

Activities take place at weekends in Brodie, with taster sesssions planned to take place. Teransport and accommodation will be organised.
