A SPECIAL bottle of whisky has been produced to mark the closure of a Moray airbase after 73 years.

With the permission of Station Commander JJ Johnston, and in association with Gordon & MacPhail, a final bottle has been commissioned to mark the closure of RAF Kinloss.

A single cask production, limited to approximately 475 individually numbered bottles, its unique blend incorporates a 25-year-old Speyside single malt and a Speyside single malt from 1939.

It has been bottled at 41.6% volume, which is 73 degrees and intimates the 73 years of the station’s lifespan.

The Last Hunter will be available in April, and can be pre-ordered using a form on the RAF Kinloss website at www.raf.mod.uk/rafkinloss/

Anyone insterested in buying a bottle of the whisky, which is priced at £79.99, must have served at RAF Kinloss. All proceeds will go to local charities.
