POLICE have arrested a man after a car was stolen in Inverness and then crashed near Dingwall.

The car was reported stolen from an address in Drummond Road, Lochardil, earlier this afternoon.

Police officers traced the vehicle heading north on the A9 and followed it for a short time, before the driver lost control and left the A862 between Ardullie and Dingwall.

The man was not seriously injured but was taken to Raigmore Hospital for treatment.

The 20-year-old is now the subject of a report to the Procurator Fiscal in connection with the theft of a car and other road traffic offences.
