Deirdre Mackay - new leader?

Brora’s Deirdre Mackay (East Sutherland and Edderton) is being tipped as the first leader of Highland Council’s new Caithness and Sutherland area committee.

The central administration has proposed her and a decision will be made at Monday’s first meeting of the group, which will be held at Drummuie.

The agenda includes nominating representatives to serve on various bodies such as the Sutherland Partnership.

Members will receive reports on the current capital projects, the winter maintenance plan for the area, housing and property services performance, and the status of the Dornoch Common Good Fund.
