Buckie boss praises young stars
BUCKIE boss Gary Hake has vowed to stick with the reshuffled side which last week maintained Jags’ grip on the Highland League Cup.
Despite having a string of regulars missing, Thistle came from behind to thump Lossiemouth 5-2 and ease into the quarter-finals of the competition.
And with only one of his starting XI from Lossie missing for the visit of Huntly to Victoria Park this weekend, manager Hake is understandably reluctant to make changes.
He is pleased that two fresh youngsters and an older, familiar face have returned to the Jags’ fold to strengthen his player pool for the remainder of the campaign.
Experienced former Montrose and Peterhead midfielder Graeme ‘Spider’ Stewart has re-joined Buckie on loan from Inverurie Locos, signing just before the close of the Highland League transfer window.
Hake was also delighted with the performance of teenage left back Craig Simpson and young sub Ben Stewart in the cup win, saying he is keen to reward the pair with more games between now and the end of the campaign.
