Macmillan Cancer Support is hosting a legacy event at Johnstons this week.

A NATIONAL cancer charity is encouraging people in Moray to think about writing a will.

A legacy reception has been organised by Macmillan Cancer Support at Johnstons of Elgin after research revealed a third of people in Scotland have not yet written a will.

Thursday's free event will include a tour of the woollen mill as well as afternoon tea.

Jonathan Frost, regional legacy advisor for Scotland, will provide information on the history of Macmillan Cancer Support, what support the charity offers, and the importance of writing a will.

Sandra Anderson, unit manager at The Oaks Palliative Day Care Unit, will also be on hand to give an insight into the local service.

Willie Wood, Johnstons Group HR director, said: "Cancer affects so many people directly and indirectly. Johnstons of Elgin are therefore delighted to be hosting this legacy event on behalf of Macmillan Cancer Support.

"Everyone needs to be aware of the importance of a will to ensure that their wishes are going to be looked after; this event will help bring that much needed awareness."

To reserve a place for the October 25 gathering contact Jonathan at jfrost@macmillan.org.uk or on 07850 209056.
