Police probe three metal thefts at school

By SPP Reporter

Police are appealing for information following three thefts of metal from the old Elgin Academy building.

Officers said that on three occasions between Friday May 25 and Tuesday June 12, at the old Elgin Academy premises on Morriston Road, copper worth a low four-figure sum was stolen from inside.

A police spokesman said the force is eager to speak to anyone who may have witnessed anything suspicious.

"In particular, officers would like to hear from anyone who has been offered copper for sale," he added.

Anyone with information should contact Grampian Police on 0845 600 5700, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 if wishing to remain anonymous.
