Two local businesses, TaxAssist Accountants and Northwood have united to support a noble cause - the CLAN Cancer Support, a north east based charity.

CLAN operates from hubs in Aberdeen, Banchory, Mintlaw, Turriff, and Ellon, offering emotional support and counselling to individuals affected by a cancer diagnosis.

They also provide complementary therapies, nutrition and wellbeing support, Clan Haven accommodation, and cancer support groups.

To raise funds for CLAN Cancer Support, they chose to "bag" Lochnager Munro (1155m) and, as part of the adventure, teamed up with other hikers from O'Caykes and Aberdeen Leaflet Delivery.

They were joined by a few furry companions on their Munro Challenge.

The purpose behind the Munro Challenge was much more than a good chat in the fresh outdoors – it was to raise funds and awareness for CLAN Cancer Support, a local charity that holds a special place in our hearts.

To support the CLAN charity by jointly sponsoring "Mighty Munro" Hare, which local artist Louise Kirby designed for this year's BIG Hop Trail.

Not only that, but they also created a Munro challenge for the teams taking part.

It's fantastic to hear that everyone involved could complete the walk and successfully conquer Aberdeenshire’s most iconic Munro, Lochnagar.

Steven Mearns, Director of TaxAssist Accountants, and Laura Mearns, Director of Northwood, expressed their appreciation for the team's commitment to this cause.

Every contribution plays a crucial role in fulfilling Clan's mission to support cancer patients and their families. Working together can improve their quality of life and inspire them to overcome their diagnosis. Seeing the impact of collaboration and support is truly extraordinary.

TaxAssist Accountants and Northwood teams have come together to donate a generous amount of over £7500 to CLAN Cancer Support.

They have pledged to continue supporting the organization throughout the year as they highly value and appreciate their dedicated efforts.
