The launch of a consultation on options for the Ellon Park & Ride to Garthdee Transport Corridor has been highlighted by MP for Gordon Constituency, Richard Thomson.

The SNP’s Mr Thomson has emphasised the importance of public comment on the options that have been drawn up by consultants AECOM on behalf of Aberdeenshire Council, NESTRANS and Aberdeen City Council.

The options set out in the study cover public transport, active travel and descriptions of enabling measures that will support transport planning objectives.

He said: “Transport issues of all kinds are a regular feature in my inbox and it is important that communities and individuals take this opportunity to have their voices heard on the options identified by AECOM for this vital transport corridor between Ellon and Aberdeen.

“This is a strong piece of work by AECOM and now that they have drawn up a broad range of options, getting public feedback on that work is absolutely critical to this transport study and the decisions that will subsequently be taken by Aberdeen City and Shire Councils and organisations like NESTRANS.

“The online consultation is well laid out, an easy read and simple to respond to using the online form. I would simply urge folk to check it out and make their views known so that any decisions made are done with the best information.”
