Motorcyclist dies after crash on A952 Mintlaw to Toll of Birness road

Police Scotland have confirmed that a 48-year-old male motorcyclist has died after a crash earlier today on the A952.

The incident occurred at around 1.10pm near houses at Clola which is located between the Toll of Birness junction and Mintlaw.

The road remains closed to traffic at present while investigation work is concluded.

A police spokesperson said: “Around 1.10pm on Thursday, November 9, we received a report of a crash involving a car and a motorcycle on the A952 near to Clola.

“Emergency services attended and a 48-year-old man, the driver of the motorcycle, was pronounced dead at the scene.

"His family has been informed.

“The driver of the car, a 69-year-old woman, was checked at the scene by Scottish Ambulance Service.

“Inquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of the incident."
