MORE than a third of Moray's adults have now received their first Covid-19 jab.

Figures released today by Public Health Scotland show that 27,102 people in Moray have received their first dose of either the Pfizer or AstraZeneca vaccine.

This equates to 34 per cent of all people aged 16 and above in the area.

Since last Wednesday's update, 6204 people have been given their first dose of a vaccine in Moray.

Moray's figures are in line with the national average, with 34 per cent of Scots aged 16 and above (or 1,542,929 people) having received a first dose.

NHS Grampian, which encompasses Moray, Aberdeenshire and Aberdeen City, is slightly behind the average. The health board has given out 151,272 first dose jabs, equating to 31.2 per cent of adults across the region.

Nationwide, a total of 65,340 people have received their second jab.

These figures, which were previously released on a Wednesday afternoon, will now be updated daily, at 2pm, on the Scottish Government website.
