Gordon Castle will kick off Moray's highland games season this weekend.

The venue near Fochabers is promising a wide variety of entertainment and country sports to keep the whole family happy.

The games arena will play host to the Scottish 28lb Weight for Distance Championships, as well as the ever-popular caber toss, massed pipe band parade and tug o’ war.

Meanwhile the country sports arena is going to welcome back the Mordor Gun Dogs, the Drakes of Hazzard, the Vander brothers and the much-loved Gordon Setter gathering.

Other attractions will include stilt walkers, wood turning, a falconry display, a bouncy castle and a children’s train.

The award-winning Gordon Castle gin is set to be available at the bar, while over 30 small businesses are going to be showcased at the Tower Hall shopping boutique.

Among the new additions this year will be an interactive mobile museum from Poppy Scotland.

Gordon Castle Highland Games and Country Fair is taking place this Sunday from 10am-5pm.
