A MORAY man is aiming to raise funds for two local charities by selling a children's book.
Frankie Barton, who lives near Craigellachie, wrote a story book called Amberleena and the Prince to give to his grandchildren last Christmas.
While at the printers, he discovered it was almost as cheap to print 200 copies as it was to print two.
That's when Mr Barton decided to go for the 200 and sell the books at £10 each to raise cash for Moray Reach Out and Sports Fund Moray.
He said: "100 of the books have gone already so I have about half left.
"The take up from friends and family has been really good, as well as with local running clubs – as I'm a keen runner.
"I'm asking people to donate £10 per book. I'm giving it one last push and then I'll hand the money over."
In more usual times, Frankie helps organise the Pinto Run, which took place in Cooper Park in 2017, 2018 and 2019 before being cancelled twice due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Organised in memory of well-known local runner Alistair 'Pinto' Sim, who passed away in 2011 after a battle with cancer, the 3K run raises roughly £500 annually for Sport Moray.
The book-selling fundraiser is looking to plug the gap left by the run over the past couple of years, in terms of donations to local charities.
If you're interested in buying a copy of Frankie's book then you can do so at several locations.
Moray Reach Out, on Elgin High Street, Buckie Furniture Store, JMK Children's Wear Boutique in Buckie and Outrun Speyside in Fochabers are all holding copies.
Mr Barton will also be at the farmer's market in Elgin on July 17 to provide signed copies.
If anyone is unable to get out, books can be ordered for delivery by phoning Frankie on 07387 430 605.
