A Moray defendant has admitted turning up uninvited at his partner's home in Dufftown with a metal pole and a knife.

Inverness Sheriff Court heard yesterday that the woman was so terrified of Gary Ross she used her mobile to film him outside.

The partner was subjected to several incidents during January last year involving Ross, who now lives on Dean Terrace, Lossiemouth.

Fiscal depute Robert Weir stated that the 34-year-old made several scratches on the bonnet of her car, including an offensive word.

Mr Weir added: "The cost of repair was uneconomical and the car was a write-off."

Ross admitted engaging in a course of domestic abuse.

This involved threatening the woman with violence, smashing a glass window and removing two wing mirrors from her vehicle.

Ross also threatened to cause her trouble by reporting her to the SSPCA and Moray Council.

During his court appearance he admitted possessing an offensive weapon and breaching a bail condition not to approach her home.

Sheriff Gary Aitken deferred sentence until June 29 for a background report and a domestic abuse programme assessment.

Ross' bail was continued.
